Diving in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park
Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park Dive Trip , Scuba Diving, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia
Borneo Dream ran a great diving trip to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park near Kota Kinabalu, Sabah yesterday. The weather at the start of the day was not that pleasant – rain and wind. But it was still tropically warm, the sea state was fine for boat travel and we knew it would improve during the day so we set off for a day of scuba diving!

Pulau Sapi House Reef
We had Angie and Gill starting their PADI Open Water Diver course and Vianney and his son, Guillaume, joining us for some leisure diving in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park.
For the leisure divers we dived Clement Reef, near Pulau Sapi for our morning dive. As son as we jumped in the water we knew we were going to have a good dive – 15m – 20m visibility, no other Divers around and a pretty coral reef to explore. We spotted lots of marine life including Nudibranches, Cleaner Shimps, juvenile Sweetlips, large shoals of Fusilier and Parrot Fish and a cute Porcupine Fish in a Barrel Sponge.

Cuttle Fish
For our afternoon dive we went scuba diving along the house reef at Pulau Sapi in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Here we spotted Banded Pipefish, Cuttle Fish, Lion Fish, Barracuda, Stone Fish, Moray Eel, Blue Spotted Rays and Frog Fish. A good collection of marine life goodies! Vianney had his underwater camera with him so took lots of photos to remember the dive by.

Porcupine Fish in a Barrel Sponge
Angie and Gillian completed their first confined skills session and open water water dive one as part of their PADI Open Water Diver course around the bay and reef at Pulau Sapi. By the end of their first day they were loving scuba diving and ready for day two of their PADI Open Water Diver course. Bring it on!
