Pulau Sapi & Pulau Gaya

TARP Scuba Diving Trip, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia

We had another great day of scuba diving in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (TARP) last week. The sun was out, the visibility was good and the marine life was out in force ;-)

Our First Turtle Of The Day

Our First Turtle Of The Day

For our first dive we dived near Pulau Sapi. We spotted a Hawksbill Turtle, a large Cuttle Fish, a Scorpian Fish, numerous Damsel Fish, Wrasse, Nemo’s . . . We dived nice and slowly and just watched as the Turtle came within 2 metres of our dive group and then crawled under a coral head to sleep. A good, enjoyable first dive for the day.

Beautiful Coral Gardens

We then dived our newest dive site in TARP Marine Park – Soft Coral Garden off the West cost of Pulau Gaya. The volume and variety of soft corals is amazing and creates a beautiful landscape – one that impresses every diver we take there. The marine life changed slightly with shoals of darting Fusiliers, File Fish, large colourful Angel Fish and hunting Trumpet Fish.

On to our third, and last dive of the day. Another dive along a different reef at Pulau Gaya. Here we dived along a sloping reef wall that went down to > 20 metres at some points in the dive. We saw a Green Turtle resting on the reef, numerous species of Nudibranches, large Puffer Fish and plenty of shoals of fish.

Another great diving day out with Bornero Dream :-)
