Scuba Diving, Dive Trip with Borneo Dream from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

Borneo Dream ran a scuba diving trip to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, near Kota Kinabalu yesterday.

Diving Round Coral Pinnacles

Beautiful Coral Pinnacles

During this scuba diving trip we took our customers scuba diving at three very different dive sites around some of the islands in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (TARP), Kota Kinabalu.

First of all we dived at Edgell Patch located off the back of Pulau Sapi, outside the Marine Park. Whilst there was a slight surface current, once we were below the water we enjoyed visibility of 15m and no current during the dive.

Soft Coral Garden

We were the only divers on the dive site and found many treasures diving around the numerous coral pinnacles. We were followed by a large shoal of Yellow Snappers for most of the dive, saw Blue Spotted Rays, Nudibranches, Porcelain Crabs, Anemone Fish looking after their eggs and a large Octopus.

Cuttle Fish - TARP, Tiga & Mayne Rock

For our second dive we dived Soft Coral Garden off the West coast of Pulau Gaya. There was a slight current coming from the South so we started our dive in the right place and enjoyed a gentle drift dive. Our customers really enjoyed the variety and colours of the soft corals during this dive. We also spotted many Nudibranches, large Angel Fish, Sweetlips, Trumpet Fish and a several species of Anemone Fish.

After a relaxing lunch on our catamaran, Borneo Dream 3, we went diving the house reef at Pulau Sapi. Whilst the coral reef is not as good a quality as the first two dives, you can enjoy some nice muck diving for part of this dive and can dive with very friendly Damsel Fish and Wrasse for the rest of the dive.

During this dive we spotted the resident large Cuttle Fish twice, found some very pretty Nudibranches, a large Stone Fish, Cleaner Shrimps and a large Grouper alongside the large variety of fish life.

With the sun still shining we set back to Kota Kinabalu after another good days scuba diving!
