Diving at Mayne Rock

Borneo Dream ran a scuba diving trip to Mayne Rock at the weekend. Mayne Rock is located approx. 30 nm (nautical miles) North from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and is a great place for a scuba diving trip if you fancy going somewhere a bit different to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (the dive site most Dive Operators in Kota Kinabalu go to).

Juvenile Nurse Shark

At Mayne Rock we have three found different dive sites – these involve diving around large boulders, teaming with fish life and home to numerous juvenile Nurse Sharks / Bamboo Sharks, Blue Spotted Rays and lots more!

Pristine Coral Reefs

The diving conditions this weekend at Mayne Rock were fantastic – visibility was 20m – 25m, there was a slight current, the marine life was abundant and as always we were the only Divers in the water.

We dived ‘Gons Boulders’ for our first dive and the adjoining coral reef for our second dive. Our diving customers really enjoyed both divers and were amazed by the pristine nature of the coral reef.
