A Family Experience – PADI Open Water Diver Course with Borneo Dream in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Congratulations to the Bound Family on becoming certified PADI Open Water Divers during their holiday in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah!

Andrew and his wife Lori had previously learned to dive over 10 years a go but hadn’t dived since. They decided it would be nice if they learned to dive as a family so Andrew, Lori and their two sons (Nathan and Aidan) all signed up for the PADI Open Water course with Borneo Dream.

All of them wanted to complete the required pre-study before they came on holiday to Kota Kinabalu – meaning they could enjoy just getting wet and scuba diving during the three days of the PADI OW course. Andrew and Lori completed PADI eLearning. Aidan and Nathan were too young to sign up for PADI eLearning so we posted their manuals to them in Singapore and they read them in advance.

Day 1 of their PADI Open Water course arrived and the boys took to diving like fish! They were amazed by everything they saw underwater – Table Coral, Anemone Fish, Damsel Fish, Barrel Sponges and lots more. During Day 2 and Day 3 of their course and the family just kept enjoying each dive they did together.

They completed their PADI OW course with Borneo Dream in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah yesterday. They will be joining us for their first diving trip as certified divers tomorrow and will enjoy 3 dives in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. An ideal location for new divers as it offers safe, easy leisure diving along shallow, pretty coral reefs.
