Dive for Earth Coral Reef Clean Up Event, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia
Borneo Dream hosted a coral reef clean up event on the 25th April as part of Project AWARE Dive for Earth Day. We cleaned up two coral reefs in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, near Kota Kinabalu – Quarry Bay (Pulau Gaya) and Pulau Sapi House Reef.

Weighing the Rubbish
We wanted to say a BIG thank you to all those who joined in and helped to collect 79kg of rubbish from our oceans.
We joined forces with Sabah Parks and together, with a group of 24 volunteers, we dived and cleaned up two coral reefs in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, near Kota Kinabalu.
The Marina Staff at the Pacific Sutera Resort also helped by disposing of the rubbish collected.

End of a Great Day
Dive for Earth Day is an extraordinary global opportunity to take action and help address the underwater issues that concern us most. We showed in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah that local action can be taken with positive effect. Enjoy some photos taken during the day.
Due to the local interest in this event, and the positive feedback from the day, we will be running more Coral Reef clean up events during 2009. Watch this space!
If ou are interested in joining in future reef clean up (and beach clean up) events, please contact the Borneo Deam team.
