Borneo Dream are an excellent company to do your scuba diving with in Sabah. They have put a lot of work into finding good, safe dive sites for their customers. They have a really stable, comfortable boat which has plenty of room and Billy and Jo are first class skippers.

Their boat was by far the best of any of the charter boats that we saw while we were there. All the kit is in excellent order and they attach the highest priority to dive safety and ensuring that their customers enjoy fantastic diving in Sabah, Borneo. Read the rest of this entry »

Wildlife Trips, Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia

My Mother and Brother came to visit me this month for their first holiday in Sabah, Borneo.  After flying over 14 hours to get to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo from the UK we wanted to help them experience some of the stunning wildlife and rainforests of, Sabah, Borneo.

Orang Utan, Sepilok Sanctuary

Orang Utan, Sepilok Sanctuary

We drove from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan and took them to a few of our favourite wildlife and rainforest trips - Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary and Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, Kinabalu Park and Sandakan Rainforest Discovery Centre.

They had never seen such a wide range of apes, or wildlife, in the wild before - Orang Utans, Proboscis Monkeys, Long Tailed Macaques, Pig Tailed Macaques, Leaf Monkey - and enjoyed each of the wildlife trips they went on. They also saw Hornbills, a wide range of endemic orchids and walked through beautiful rainforest landscapes. Read the rest of this entry »

Follow One of the Trails

Kinabalu Park, Sabah, Borneo is a natural wonder that offers visitors, as they follow nature trails, a glimpse into the fascinating world of flora within the park. You can choose to follow the trails independently , wait for the guided tour at 11am each morning (you pay as small fee for this), or go as part of a day trip. The choice is yours.

Kinabalu Park is one of my favorite places to go for a day out in Sabah, Borneo (when I’m not underwater diving). I have been several times this year so far and enjoy trekking one, or more, of the many marked trails each time I go. I even went on my Birthday as it’s such a lovely place to chill out, enjoy yourself and go for a scenic, energetic walk.
