- Pretty Coral Reefs
I am not really a strong swimmer and I have never really been in deep water before. Making it down to 6 metres was one great achievement for me!
Thanks to Billy my Instructor. It helped having a good Instructor who could make me laugh and make diving look like it’s a piece of cake. It really was fun.
I’d rate Borneo Dream 10/10 for service, enjoyment, safety, staff, overall quality, value for money and enjoyment. I’d certainly use Borneo Dream again”

“I recently came on a weeks trip to Sabah, Borneo. During this I went on a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience with Borneo Dream.
All the staff were great, the boat was great and the diving was great! I had a very professional experience. As my first dive experience it’s inspired me to become fully qualified.

I would rate Borneo Dream 10/10 for service, staff and what I did. I’d rate the 9/10 for enjoyment, overall quality and value for money.
There’s nothing I can think of that you could improve. Keep going as you are, I think you know what you are doing!
I would certainly recommend Borneo Dream to others and I would use them again next time I visit Borneo.”

PADI Discover Scuba Diving, Try Dive, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, Borneo
Jeanly, and her husband Lye, enjoyed a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience with Borneo Dream this week. This was the first time both of them had gone further than snorkeling in the sea.
We started their experience with a short skills session in the shallow bay at Pulau Sapi in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (TARP), Kota Kinabalu. It had rained continually throughout the night so the sand was a bit kicked up in the shallow part of the bay. With gentle instruction by Joanne they soon became comfortable with the basic skills they needed to complete during the first part of their PADI Discover Scuba Divng Experience. Next, after a surface interval, was their first dive.

TARP Diving Day Trip & PADI Discover Scuba Diver Experience, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, Borneo
We enjoyed another day of diving around Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (TARP). The weather wasn’t as sunny as normal, with rain and wind from mid afternoon, but that didn’t deter from our diving and enjoyment for the day.
Lobsters
We started off our day with the leisure divers, Ada and Kenneth, diving near Pulau Sapi ably guided by one Ron. Richard also supported Ron as part of his Divemaster internship with Borneo Dream. Meantime, Jack completed his skills as part of his PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience in the shallow waters along Sapi bay with Billy, one of our PADI Instructors. Kenneth’s friend, Ben, had also come along to do some snorkeling and, with a bit of encouragement and a life jacket, went snorkeling in Sapi Bay over the shallow coral reef teeming with a multitude of fish life.
Nemo
During the surface interval after the first dive the wind had started to increase so we decided to adapt our diving itinerary and go and dive some pretty coral reefs in the sheltered bays around Pulau Gaya. Here Ada and Jack dived together for the first time ever. Jack also showed-off his natural diving ability – Billy reckons it was his expert tuition 
– and nicely managed his buoyancy during his PADI Discover Scuba Diving dives. The divers spotted Puffer Fish, lots of Anemone Fish, Trumpet Fish, Fusiliers, Nudibranches, some large Lobsters and lots more.
Whilst they were diving Ben chose to do a bit of sun bathing on the sun deck of Borneo Dream 3 and chilled out for the rest of the afternoon as well as enjoy some fun chats with Joanne, the skipper for the day.

Where's Shirley?
PADI Discover Scuba Diving, Learning to Dive, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia
Shirley Thien came over from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last week to join the Borneo Dream facebook group wildlife event. Alongside this she also decided to have her first go at diving and enjoyed a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience with Borneo Dream.
Shirley - a Diver!
Shirley enjoyed diving around Pulau Sapi, Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (TARP) and was followed by the friendly Damsel Fish and colourful Wrasse.
Shirley was originally born in Sabah, Borneo. Amazingly this is the first time she has seen the wildlife of Borneo in it’s natural habitat and dived – two firsts in one trip! She loved every minute of her adventure and is already planning to do the same trips again in the future with Borneo Dream.
Congratulations Shirley on trying two new experiences – we look forward to welcoming you back again
