來沙巴學潛水 正是時候!

成功啦

海底的世界又多了兩名愛上潛水的成員: 來自上海的Vincent和Kirk, 在Borneo Dream專任中文教練Silvia的帶領下, 順利完成了PADI開放水域潛水員的課程! 恭喜啦!

一開始Kirk只是抱著陪朋友Vincent上課的心情參加這個課程, 沒想到他入水後就像一條魚自在又快樂, 他立刻愛上了潛水 及在水中那無重力的自由感覺!

Vincent 自認是需要花比較多時間學新東西的人, 在第一天的課程中他花了一些時間在教練指導下克服了耳壓不平衡及面鏡進水的種種不適, 到第三天結業的時候他已經能完美地控制中性浮力, 輕鬆地完成所有課程要求!

除此之外, 他們跟Borneo Dream全部的員工變成了好朋友! 目前已經回到上海的他們, 除了熱心鼓吹朋友出國跟Borneo Dream學潛水外, 同時已經在計畫下一次到沙巴潛水的行程了– 這次該上進階水域的課程囉!

Scuba diving in Sabah, Borneo has to be on the wish list of every scuba diver. The coral reefs around Sabah form part of the Coral Triangle and are recognised as some of the most important marine sites in the World.

What surprises many divers visiting Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is the diversity of marine life you can find just in front of the capital city. Borneo Dream visits > 20 different dive sites in nearby Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. Across these dive sites we often come across a fascinating marine life find! This feature tells you more about the Blue Ringed Octopus which can be found when scuba diving off Pulau Sapi in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park near Kota Kinabalu. The Blue Ringed Octopus get there name from the distinctive blue rings that only become visible when the octopus is startled. This tiny Octopus is reported to be the most poisonous of all cephalopods. This small octopus has a body size of less than 5cm and arms around 7cm. Read the rest of this entry »

PADI Course Schedule with Borneo Dream – February 2010

Borneo Dream offers the widest range of scuba diving courses in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah – choose from PADI, SDI, TDI, IANTD. From try dives, learning to dive all the way through to rebreathers and technical diving.

During February 2010 we are running a range of PADI courses. If you fancy joining us, you can find out more about our current PADI course schedule below:

All diving courses are run in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park just in front of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

We will also be running daily scuba diving trips to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (2 or 3 Dives) and Edgell Patches throughout February. Join these for leisure diving (if you’re a certified Diver) or for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience (try dive for non Divers).

February in Sabah will be a busy time – with Chinese New Year – so if you fancy scuba diving with Borneo Dream and enjoying a safe, high quality diving course or dive trip then please contact the Dream Team.

A Great Range of Scuba Diving Trips from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo

When Divers are planning a holiday to Sabah, Borneo the scuba diving destinations that will be promoted to them are the world famous Sipadan (made famous by Jacques Cousteau) and Layang Layang. Both offer stunning diving along drop-offs, pelagics galore and muck diving.

What Divers visiting Sabah will not realise is that there are some diving treasures along the west coast of Sabah and all accessible by diving day trips from Kota Kinabalu. Alongside the more popular day trips to dive sites in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park you can also go scuba diving at Pulau Tiga, Mayne Rock, Usukan Bay WW2 wrecks and Mantanani. At these dive sites you can enjoy diving often pristine coral reefs and wreck diving. Borneo Dream is the only dive operator who runs diving day trips to all of these west coast destinations. South of Kota Kinabalu, approximately 30 nautical miles South West, is Pulau Tiga. Pulau Tiga is located in a Marine Park meaning the reefs are protected for conservation purposes by Sabah Parks. At Pulau Tiga there are around 8 dive sites (mainly South and West of the Island). The dive depths range between 6m – 20m, the visibility is generally 5m – 20m with occasional strong currents on certain dive sites. This makes dive trips to Pulau Tiga suitable for experienced leisure divers, some drift diving and lots of underwater photography! Read the rest of this entry »
