Diving at Mayne Rock
Mayne Rock Scuba Diving Trip, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia
We have run several scuba diving trips to Mayne Rock during August. Mayne Rock is 30nm North West of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and is home to a long, narrow shallow coral reef (9m – 18m) with pristine corals. It also has two series of large boulders towards the southern end of the reef which create a fascinating underwater landscape for scuba diving.
During every one of the scuba diving day trips we had lovely visibility (20m +) on all dives. We found some interesting marine life – juvenile Bamboo and Nurse Sharks, Blue Spotted Rays, Nudibranches, Cuttle Fish, Crocodile Flathead and some 1.5m long Cobia’s that got very friendly with some of the Divers.

A Great Day Out!
PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience & Leisure Diving in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia
A group of 20+ Scouts from England recently came on holiday to Sabah, Borneo. During their three week visit they got involved in several local community projects. At the end of their holiday they decided to treat themselves to a day out. They decided to go with Borneo Dream to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and took part in a either PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience, try dive, or enjoyed some snorkeling along pretty shallow coral reefs fringing Pulau Mamutik, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Try Dive in KK, Sabah
Billy, Borneo Dreams lead PADI Instructor, along with our other PADI Instructors helped 16 Scouts enjoy a try dive via the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience. Most of them had never tried scuba diving before and were amazed by the whole experience.
They started their confined water session in a sheltered, shallow bay at Pulau Mamutik in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. They then enjoyed a leisure dive along the shallow house reef and where amazed by the corals and pretty fish life – including seeing Nemo! Read the rest of this entry »

“Borneo Dream were fantastic!
When I sent details of what I wanted to do during my planned holiday in Sabah, Borneo along with my budget to Borneo Dream and to another agency, the other one came straight back and said it was impossible without doubling the budget unless I wanted to stay in really run-down places and go on pretty unsafe trips.

Joanne from Borneo Dream, on the other hand, came back with a range of suggestions and extremely helpful comments. Email responses were almost immediate, and everything from booking our holiday to payment ran extremely efficiently.
In Sabah, Borneo itself, there wasn’t any sign of anything run down or unsafe on any of the trips / hotels Joanne booked for us! Instead, we had an absolutely fantastic 8 days there, cramming in more than we had thought possible. When we needed a bit of logistical help (e.g. when I had forgotten to print off the itinerary and needed to know pick-up times and places) Joanne was again instantly available and went out of her way to help us out. PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course, PADI Courses, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia
Congratulations to Heidi Helbo, Rune Jensen and Paul Bridges who have just completed their PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course with Borneo Dream in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.
They all decided they wanted to improve their scuba diving skills during their holiday in KK, Sabah – and the PADI AOW course was an ideal choice for them. As well as the Deep and Navigation dives they chose to complete the following speciality dives – Night Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Underwater Digital Photographer.
